Getting Around Auckland

Getting around Auckland New Zealand is simple. Public transport is easy to use, cheap and convenient, with the Britomart Transport Centre in Quay Street, Auckland the hub of all transport.

The Britomart Transport Centre is the main starting point for Auckland's trains, with two main lines west to Waitakere and south to Papakura. The centre is also the hub for Auckland's bus services.

One of the most convenient ways to get around Auckland city is the Link bus loop. This service runs every 10 minutes throughout the day (and every 20 minutes out of hours and on Sundays) and travels along in Queen Street, Sky Tower, Victoria Park Market, Ponsonby Road, Karangahape Road, the University, Newmarket, Parnell, the train station and QEII Square.

Just outside the Britomart Transport Centre is the Downtown Ferry Terminal, where you catch a ferry across Auckland harbour.
